The florescence of the these branches caught my eye. And I loved the symetry and the background. The bright backround brings my eyes back and forth from there to the bright flower spikes. The distinctive inflorescences or flower spikes occur over a short period through autumn and early winter. The Hairpin Banksia var cunninghamii (Banksia spinulosa) is a species of woody shrub, of the genus Banksia in the Proteaceae family.

Award winning photographer, Penny Lisowski, started using a Nikon 35mm camera in1979. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and now lives with her childhood sweetheart, Chuck in Winder, Ga. to be near their family,including grandsons Ryan and Greg. In 1992 her husband, Chuck, encouraged her to enter her first exhibition at Photo 92. That first ribbon was just the beginning and since then Penny has won awards at many art shows and exhibitions. In addition to the awards her work is displayed in businesses and homes throughout the country. In her quest to learn more she graduated from the New York Institute of Photography, home study course.
