While exploring the tidepools at Crystal Cove beach, California with my husband Chuck, we found these beautiful colorful starfish sunbathing on the rocks. We saw lots of sealife and I took lots of photos. We received a pamphlet from the Crystal Cove Conservancy to help identify what we saw. We looked up the low tide times and started on our adventure. It was lots of fun.
What are tidepools? Tidepools are pools left behind when the water recedes. Lots of animals can be seen in the pools. Some live there all the time others are trapped by the drop in water level but they can only be seen low tides.
