One of my lifelong desires was to see Mount Rushmore in person. I was not disappointed. No wonder there are so many photos, it is an experience one wants to preserve and share. Not just seeing George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and Theodore ( Teddy ) Roosevelt in granite but reading the history and viewing the movie was all part of it. Each face is 60 feet tall and it is overwhelming. We went back just to see the evening presentation and the lights at the end. It poured just prior and was almost cancelled but the sky cleared and we saw a great slide show about the history of Mount Rushmore. If you have seen Mount Rushmore I hope this brings back memories, if not just imagine each face longer than a telephone pole. The trees in the photo on the hill give it a little perspective.
Award winning photographer, Penny Lisowski, started using a Nikon 35mm camera in1979. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and now lives with her childhood sweetheart, Chuck in Winder, Ga. to be near their family,including grandsons Ryan and Greg. In 1992 her husband, Chuck, encouraged her to enter her first exhibition at Photo 92. That first ribbon was just the beginning and since then Penny has won awards at many art shows and exhibitions. In addition to the awards her work is displayed in businesses and homes throughout the country. In her quest to learn more she graduated from the New York Institute of Photography, home study course.
