Love chasing and capturing butterflies. I used selective color on this monarch to draw attention and spotlight her beautiful color. I really don't know if this one is a female but she is so beautiful. The monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) may be the most familiar North American butterfly. It is a milkweed butterfly (subfamily Danainae) in the family Nymphalidae. Once, many years ago, we saw hundreds of them during their Migration to Mexico. It was an awesome sight to see.
