These beautiful purple bearded irises are growing in my yard next to my pond with a waterfall. You can barely see the waterfall in the background. I wanted to share them with you. Bearded irises are identified by thick, bushy "beards" on each of the falls (lower petals) of the blossoms. Originally, most bearded irises were native to central and southern Europe.
