Cape Florida Lighthouse is well seen and photographed across the bay near the restuarants. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is home to this oldest standing structure in Miami-Dade County: a historic lighthouse built in 1825 and reconstructed in 1846. The historic compound in Bill Baggs State Park and Recreation Area now includes the newly restored, 95-foot white-brick tower and a replica of the lighthouse keeper's 1825 cottage.
